Since your client may come from a culture you know little about, it is important to do research about that culture’s etiquette and design norms. As the previous course taught us, design decisions like color can communicate very different things in different cultures. Visiting physically may not be possible because of schedules or distance. In this instance video calls may be the best compromise.
Additional to your own personal research and meeting the client, the project brief can provide better insight into the needs and customs of the client. Not only will it assist in getting to understand the client, it will help with becoming familiar with the message they want to convey and the values of their target audience.
