LinkedIn Learning Summary
WordPress is a flexible program that allows for lots of customization depending on what conveniences the author is willing to trade for them. One of the features that stood out as particularly useful in a global sense is the ability to change the language of the website’s Admin panels. This feature is particularly useful for those from different countries who would wish to use WordPress to build websites.
A good distinction to make first is that WordPress’s ability to change the language of the site only applies to its admin interface. The actual content submitted by the user will need to be translated by hand, even though changing the admin’s language will also change how web browsers recognize the website as well.
In theory this feature sounds very useful, but how many other people from different countries are aware of WordPress when making their websites? There could be local programs that are more popular than WordPress. There are different web publishing sites like Xinet or West.cn that are popular hosting platforms in China, but it is unclear what publishing application is used to create personal or commercial websites there.
