Hello again!
Today I’ve done more research on the Mr. Mercury effect and it seems that I can’t animate the particles on a path like I exactly want to.
In the meantime I can practice different effects!
For example, the CC Glue Gun effect can be animated on a draw path very easily. I link the position of the Glue Gun producer to the position of a Null object, and then I animate that Null’s position along the timeline. I’m turning the position keyframes into spacial bezier curves in order to curve the animation path. I want the magic effect to swirl around!
As I play around with this CC Glue Gun effect, I feel that in certain angles and situations I would need to use different effects to supplement Glue Gun. The particle scattering from CC Mr. Mercury isn’t useful in a swirling line of magic, but it would be useful for a direct splash. The trick would be to adjust each effect in order to make the transition between the two effects seem invisible.
I will keep experimenting with CC Glue Gun. I think I can get the magic highlights done next.
’till next time!
