My friends and I challenged ourselves to a writing exercise where we design a fantasy world. In my entry, I imagined a world inside a gargantuan spaceship. As I wrote, I asked myself what kind of life forms would evolve in a world of metal and plastic? If the spaceships’s systems integrated the new life into its systems, what kind of robotic stewards would keep the ecosystem in balance?
